Overview
This delicious custardy goop can be used with pastry, eaten on its own, with berries (our favourite) or turned into high-end ice-cream. It serves a family of 4 for dessert with berries; if the recipe is doubled it takes longer to cook, so adjust the time accordingly.

10 minutes cook time

Ingredients
6 egg yolks
125g caster sugar
20g plain flour
20g custard powder
250g milk
250g cream
1 ts vanilla paste

Equipment
Thermomix

Method
1 – Place all ingredients into the Thermomix

2 – Mix at speed 7 for 20 seconds

3 – Cook at 90° C for 10 minutes at speed 4

4 – Optional extra – add 75g melted couverture chocolate while still hot to make a chocolate version. 70% dark is recommended.
